License Information

The Natalie M. LaPrade Medical Cannabis Commission Reform Act (the “Act”), Chapter 598 of the Acts of 2018, authorizes the MMCC to issue a limited number of additional licenses to grow and process medical cannabis in Maryland. The MMCC anticipates that up to four (4) additional grower licenses and ten (10) additional processor licenses will be available.

As required by the Act, the MMCC is in the process of developing emergency regulations to implement measures to encourage the inclusion of minority and women applicants and minority and women-owned businesses seeking to participate in the medical cannabis industry. Once the emergency regulations have been submitted and approved, the MMCC will issue the new applications for medical cannabis grower and processor licenses.

The MMCC does not plan to accept any new applications for medical cannabis dispensary licenses at this time.
