Acquiring Medical Cannabis from MMCC Licensees Only

Linthicum, MD (March 29, 2018) - The Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) is providing this bulletin to remind licensees that all medical cannabis, including medical cannabis finished products, medical cannabis concentrates, and medical cannabis-infused products must be acquired from a Maryland licensed grower or processor. Licensees may not acquire medical cannabis or medical cannabis products from outside of Maryland or from unlicensed Maryland businesses (COMAR 10.62.22.03 and 10.62.28.03).

Medical cannabis and medical cannabis products include any product produced by extracting cannabinoids from the cannabis plant. This includes any medical cannabis and medical cannabis products containing Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid (THCA), Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabidiolic Acid (CBDA), Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabinol (CBN), or any other cannabinoid.

In addition, all medical cannabis and medical cannabis products must be entered into the electronic manifest system (Metre). Medical cannabis and medical cannabis products not entered into Metre may not be sold by a licensed grower, processor, or dispensary.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fine of up to $10,000 per violation, license suspension or revocation, or both. This bulletin does not change, remove, or replace any existing regulations under COMAR 10.62.
